2020 Reflections

Well, 2020 was a struggle for many people. I needed to take some personal time last year, which included taking a step back from YouTube. It was a tough time for me personally and coming back has been difficult. I created a video that is now private, it was too difficult to create and I was a mess. I did try to discuss my 2020 goals and what happened to those expectations and what lessons did I learn.

In this post, I’m sharing the important parts of my message.

2020 had it’s obstacles, I found gratitude helped me overcome really tough times and I was overwhelmed with gratitude that I was able to keep my “regular” job and work remotely. I did struggle through most of the year for various reason. I successfully completed some tasks but it’s really the lessons I learned that made the year manageable.

2021 Q1 Goals

  • Build a Content Calendar
  • Try Batch Recording Method
  • YouTube Research Homework (Thumbnails, Audio, Lighting)
  • Set up my filming area
  • Complete Final 15 PDUs for PMP renewal
  • Read
    • 12 Week Year, How To Lead When You’re Not In Charge
    • Love Yourself First!: Boost Your Self-Esteem in 30 Days
    • Destination Happiness: 12 Simple Principles That Will Change Your Life

2020 Lessons Learned

  • Perfection is not a realistic goal – it is unhealthy and sucks all the joy out of life
  • Give myself credit when it’s due and keep trying!
  • I’m not for everyone and that’s cool with me!
  • Taking a step back for self-care is not failure
  • It’s okay to re-prioritize
  • It’s normal to feel grief but still want to laugh, find happiness in everyday little things and to continue on with life

Thoughts

I’ll be examining a few more lessons learned through-out the year and finding ways to create better & more engaging content. I feel grateful for what I was able to accomplish in 2020 and for the journey to this point in time. Thanks to all my subscribers!
